Advisory Council members are a community of champions for Telluride Mountain School.
They provide service by acting as ambassadors to further communicate and advance
the mission of the school. Through their diverse knowledge and perspectives, the
following members play a unique and important role in our community.

HARLEY BROOKE-HITCHING
Harley has been a long time Trustee and Telluride Mountain School supporter. Harley has worked in Chicago, Amsterdam, London, Bangkok, East Harlem and Telluride. Her public service has included Commissioner for the City of New York, with the Giuliani Administration and Telluride Town Council with Planning & Zoning and HARC. Harley has a breadth of nonprofit experience, including: Outward Bound, Manhattan Institute, City Harvest, One to One Mentoring, and a former Board of Trustee for Telluride Mountain School.
ANNE BROWN
Anne works as a focus group moderator for JSC Consumer Insights in New York, telecommuting from her home office in Telluride. In addition to her work with the Mountain School, Anne currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Yale University Alumni Fund and the Parents’ Committee at The Taft School. She is a graduate of Greenwich High School in Greenwich, CT, and received her B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Yale University.
VIRGINIA EGGER
Virginia Egger served as Telluride’s city manager before joining Seth Cagin to found Telluride Mountain School in January, 1999. Her two daughters, Kroger and Sophia Schwartz, were two of the school’s first students. Virginia has served on the boards of the Imogene Pass Run and Telluride’s MountainFilm Festival. An economics graduate from the University of Colorado, Virginia also attended the John F. Kennedy School of Government’s Summer Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government.
TIM ERDMAN
Tim Erdman is Chairman and CEO of Erdman Holdings, Inc. and recently founded Erdman Energy Enterprises, LLC. In addition to his work with the Mountain School, Tim serves on the boards of many business and community organizations. Mr. Erdman earned a BA in natural energy systems from Colorado University-Boulder, attended the Masters of Architecture Program at the University of Colorado-Denver and completed Harvard Business School’s Owner/President Management program.
GEORGE GAGE
George Gage has been a friend and supporter of the Mountain School from its early years. Long-time members of the Telluride community, George and his wife Beth are the brains and brawn behind Gage & Gage Productions. Prior to his work in documentary filmmaking, George produced and directed films and television commercials in New York and Los Angeles. He was an art director at Young & Rubicam Advertising, Vice President at McCaffrey-McCall. George holds a BFA, having graduated with honors from Pratt Institute.
RON GAGER
Ron Gager, founded Gager & Associates, a consulting group specializing in organizational strategy, change leadership, process improvement, and project management. Gager & Associates has worked with a variety of clients including Noodles & Company, CDI Corp., SAS Institute, Purdue Pharma, Coors Brewery, Morgan Stanley, Sears Merchandise Group, United Artists, NASA, Bristol-Myers Squibb, United Technologies, StorageTek, and Kellogg Cereals. As a former Program Director for Outward Bound, Ron also pioneered the establishment of an adventure-based management training approach to develop leadership skills in managers and work teams.
CARL HOBERT
Carl Hobert’s personal and professional interests closely parallel those of the Mountain School mission. Carl’s resume details an extensive background in foreign languages, as he believes that the understanding and mastery of language can help to bridge cultural divides and foster better international relations. He holds a BA in French and Political Science from Middlebury College, a Masters in Spanish from Middlebury College, and a Masters in Law and Diplomacy from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts University.
LYNN HOLBERT
Lynn is a lawyer who telecommutes (and occasionally commutes) as Counsel in the Business Restructuring and Insolvency practice in the New York office of Hogan Lovells US LLP, a global top 10 law firm. Lynn and her sons, James Roberts (a TMS alumnus) and Will (a rising TMS senior) hail from New Orleans and New York, and spent ten years from 1994 to 2005 visiting Telluride before making a permanent, full-time move to Telluride in August of 2005. Lynn is an avid skier, runner, hiker and enthusiastic supporter of TMS.
JIM JOHNSON
Jim has held numerous teaching and administrative positions at leading educational institutions around the country. These include serving as Director of Admissions at Cheshire Academy, a trustee of the Salisbury School and Headmaster of the Cedu School. In addition to his passion for education, Jim is passionate about horses and is certified in the Eponaquest model of equine assisted learning. His deepest passion, is for his two grandsons who currently attend the Telluride Mountain School.
DICK KEARNEY
Dick Kearney came to Telluride in 2000 with his wife and two sons. Dick is a graduate of Penn State University School of Horticulture. Formerly he worked as the Assistant Horticulturist at the San Diego Zoo in the late 1980’s, managed his own Landscape Design and Build firm in San Diego, CA and in Pennsylvania, and worked as the Sales and Marketing Director for W.R. Case and Sons Cultery Co.
GRANT MCCARGO
Grant is Managing Director, Founder and CEO of Bio-Logical Capital. He is also the founder of Urban Villages, Inc., a leading-edge real estate development and investment firm. In his role as CEO, Grant establishes the vision for Bio-Logical Capital and takes the leads in investor and partner relations, policy and overall operations. Grant has two daughters, Page and Keaton, who attended Telluride Mountain School where he also served as a Trustee for many years.
CASEY MCMANEMIN
Casey McManemin is a long-time second homeowner. Casey has watched with interest as the Mountain School has grown over the years. As the product of an independent school education himself, he views the Mountain School as an asset to the community, one he would like to support as it moves towards sustainability. He is a graduate of Texas A&M University, and before that of St. Mark’s School in Dallas, a 100-year- old independent day school, with enrollment of about 850 boys in grades one through twelve.
