Wendy Russell is the 5th through 12th grade Spanish teacher at Telluride Mountain School.  A native of northeastern Ohio, she received a BA in Geography and minor in Spanish at Kent State University.  She went on to study Spanish at the Universidad Católica in Quito, Ecuador and received her teaching certification in Spanish from Keene State College in New Hampshire.  She is currently working on an MA in Spanish through Middlebury College’s summer language program in Vermont.  Wendy and her husband Doug have 2 sons, Ben, 20 and Owen, 9.  They lived in New Hampshire for 11 years, where she taught at both a high school and K-8 school.  In 2003, they moved near the Tetons in Idaho and she took a teaching sabbatical to stay home with her youngest son.  An avid trail runner, mountain biker and lover of all activities that take place out-of-doors, arriving in Telluride to teach at the Mountain School is a dream come true.
