Celebrates Chinese New Year
As part of its cultural curriculum, Montessori at Mountain School celebrated Chinese New Year February 10th with a potluck Asian lunch in its classrooms. Children studied Asia throughout the month of January with crafts like traditional Kabuki mask, activities, foods and presentation. The family celebration concluded the unit. During lunch the mother-daughter team of Honga and Raven Hopgood made a brief presentation on South Korea, Angela Pashayan shared some Japanese textiles, and Kristin Patterson helped the children model a hat from Ladakh, India.
