Cynthia Hughes joined the Telluride Mountain School Board of Trustees in the fall of 2008.  Having vacationed in Telluride since 1999, Cynthia married a local contractor, James Hughes, and combined their families to live in Telluride.  Cynthia has four children attending Telluride Mountain School: Charles, James, Elena and Mark.  Before starting a family, Cynthia was the Director of Research at a Florida-based private venture capital firm, and assisted in the firm’s private investment partnership.  She earned a B.B.A in Finance with an Economics emphasis from Southern Methodist University in 1988, and an M.B.A. in Finance and Accounting from Vanderbilt University in 1990.  Before moving to Telluride, Cynthia served as a board member on the Regis School of the Sacred Heart in Houston, Texas, and the Redstone Equity Venture Fund.  Cynthia has also served as a committee member, co-chair or chair for various philanthropic fundraisers in the Houston community.
