Kirsten Ostberg is teaching science and math at both the upper school and middle school levels at the Mountain School this year. She grew up outside of Toronto, Canada where she graduated from high school before making the journey south across the border. In 1999 she graduated from Colgate University with a B.A. in Chemistry. Following graduation she decided to fulfill her love for learning in a non-traditional way by traveling and living internationally for two years. Kirsten then resumed her formal studies at Columbia University where she received her Master’s degree in Chemistry.

Kirsten’s career as an educator began at Suffield Academy, a boarding high school, in northern Connecticut. During her three years there she had the opportunity to teach all levels of Chemistry, conceptual Physics, and Environmental Science. Outside the classroom she pursued her passion for the outdoors both as an instructor with the Suffield Outdoor Leadership Opportunities program and leading outdoor education trips with Wilderness Ventures during the summer.
