Jennifer Hubbard returns to the Mountain School for her second year as the school's Program Coordinator. She brings along 10 plus years of experience in education as a K-12 school librarian and science teacher. Jennifer is a native Virginian, graduating from Washingon and Lee University with a BA in English and a minor in Science. After a NOLS trip in the Windrivers, the West won her heart and it wasn't long before she found Telluride. It was here that Jennifer rediscovered her passion for picture books and young adult literature while volunteering regularly at the old Wilkinson Public Library. At the encouragement of the fabulous folks at the library, she happily moved on to receive her Masters in Library Science from UNC Chapel Hill, and has been inspiring budding readers ever since. Jennifer started her school library career in Franconia 's Notch, NH, where she ran the K-12 library program at the Lisbon School , while teaching snowboarding lessons at Cannon Mountain.

Jennifer than lived and worked in the San Francisco Bay Area as the Media and Technology Director at Windrush School, a K-8 independent school, before taking a job as the Elementary Librarian at San Francisco Day School. While traveling extensively in Nepal and Tibet , Jennifer met her husband, a fellow educator. They relocated back to Telluride in 2001 when they each took jobs at the Telluride Middle/High School. Jennifer is excited to continue in her role as a Telluride educator and is particularly excited about supporting the Telluride Mountain School community. When she's not wondering around bookstores, you can find Jennifer looking for that perfect wave, teaching yoga, practicing her tele turns, or constructing baskets out of whatever material she may find along the trails.
