Corey Fortenberry is a native of California who studied aeronautical engineering at California Polytech. He has been in Telluride since 1979 when he was recruited from Vail-Beaver Creek by former Telski owner Ron Allred to build Gorrono, the mid-mountain restaurant. Shortly thereafter, Corey started Fortenberry Construction, and has been one of Telluride's top custom home builders ever since. In addition to his work on behalf of the Mountain School, Corey has served on the Town of Telluride's Planning and Zoning Commission and Streetscapes Committee. He is married to Shirley, with whom he has two children, Taylor and Michael.
