Dan Conzelman is the Telluride Mountain School Physical Education teacher and director of the Winter Sports Program. Dan, a St. Louis native, is excited to become a permanent resident of the Telluride community after living here for nine summers guiding fly fishing and rafting locally and in the Black Canyon.
After graduating from Colorado College with a degree in English, Dan spent his winters teaching elementary school, first in Boulder and then at the Vail Mountain School. His passion for classroom education began to evolve into one for outdoor education where he could share his knowledge of rivers, mountains, backcountry adventuring, skiing, and foreign travel.
Dan has spent extensive time exploring Latin America, focusing on culture, language, and, of course, fishing. He grew up playing a variety of competetive sports and still holds on to his love for ice hockey and soccer. Dan loves nothing more than spending time outside with students, whether picking up rocks in rivers, cruising down ski slopes, or kicking around a ball.
