ATHLETIC EDUCATION

Telluride Mountain School: Preschool - High School

Athletic Education is integral to daily life at Telluride Mountain School. As active participants, students gain awareness of technical skills for specific sports, while developing both mental and physical strength. They hone life skills such as sportsmanship, self-discipline, dedication, teamwork and respect.

Athletics are considered an extension of the classroom and students are required to uphold the school's core values in athletics as they would in any academic class. They are encouraged to strive toward personal excellence and to always participate with integrity.

Winter Sports Program

The Winter Sports Program at the Mountain School is a developmental program that accommodates all skill levels, from the recreational skier/snowboarder to the aspiring Olympic competitor. The school believes that by offering resources for the most driven athletes to pursue their dreams, an environment is created in which all students are challenged to put forth their best effort and achieve their personal goals. The work ethic, commitment and time management skills learned while participating in the Winter Sports Program develop high achieving athletes, while teaching vital life skills that all students can apply to any task in any arena in which they become involved.

Students are on the mountain throughout the winter season, from one to six days a week, depending on age and competitive interest.
