Amber Hughes grew up in Lawrence, Kansas. She attended Raintree Montessori School for pre-school and then returned to Raintree after high school to assist a favorite childhood teacher. Amber began her college experience at the University of Kansas, studying music education and pursuing her love of singing and instruments. After re-assessing her life goals, Amber changed her focus and obtained a degree in Early Childhood Education from the University of Kansas. After graduation, Amber moved to Boulder, CO., to obtain her AMS Montessori certification from the Montessori Education Center of the Rockies. Amber then worked at Boulder's public Montessori during her internship year in order to complete her certification, at Community Montessori School. In 2006-2007, Amber joined the Mountain School. Amber enjoys her time with the children in her classroom and also enjoys hitting the ski slopes and hiking in her free time.
