Thomas Thacher is entering his fifth year at Telluride Mountain School as the intermediate and upper school history teacher. He is excited to combine his knowledge of history, enthusiasm for teaching, and commitment to the TMS community in order to provide dynamic classes.
A graduate of St. George’s Prep School, Newport, RI and The Colorado College, Thomas received a B.A. degree in history and political science while also focusing on best practices in teaching. While in college, he participated in a semester-long experiential education program at sea and then went on to work as a crewmember and teacher aboard traditional schooners in the western Atlantic Ocean. Thomas has also traveled extensively in Africa, the South Pacific, and South America.
